Imphal, February 25 2016:
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) volunteers today locked the office of Nagaland State Transport (NST) office here in an apparent move against NSF's ban on entry of Meitei/Manipuri owned vehicles at Naga inhabited areas.
A large number of AMSU volunteers went to NST office at near old High Court complex, North AOC and not only locked the office but also seized vehicle documents of two passenger buses (NL 111530 and NL 11-1529) parked there.
Later, the students also locked the gate of the complex.
Speaking to reporters, AMSU general secretary Manjit Sarangthem strongly condemned verbally abusing the drivers of the trucks stranded between Mayangkhang and Ningthoupham in Senapati district by NSF volunteers.

He said that NSF volunteers had not only prevented these vehicles from proceeding further but also seized vehicle documents.
Manjit said that NSF has given a communal tinge to the Mantripukhri incident by targeting the whole Meitei community.
Saying that AMSU has lots of respect for NSF, Manjit said that it is unfortunate for the whole society to see provocative actions from responsible and big organisations like NSF.
Urging NSF to revoke its ban, Manjit said that AMSU can also ban entry of Naga owned vehicles in Manipur, Assam, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh.
Saying that Meiteis and Nagas have been residing together harmoniously in Manipur since the past many centuries, Manjit cautioned that NSF must be held responsible if any unwanted incident happens between the people of the two communities due to the ban.
