Imphal, July 09 2014:
Demanding justice for the 13-year-old rape survivor of Government Ideal Blind School, All Tribal Disabled Union Manipur (ATDUM) has announced to launch a mass rally stir from July 15 .
Speaking at a press conference held at its Nagaram office, ATDUM president Momo Tatanga also demanded termination of Social Welfare Director, school Headmistress and hostel warden from their services for not taking action against the accused in time.
He added that mere suspension is not enough for them.
Moreover, the president also demanded compensation for the rape survivor and action against school authority and concerned department for suppressing the issue.
Police have submitted a charge sheet to the Court, Momo said and added that following a request from ATDUM, All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) has decided to sponsor an Advocate to assist the victim in the prosecution of the case.
It may be mentioned that Government Ideal Blind School Chowkidar Him Bahadur Thapa alias Khansa allegedly raped the 13-year-old visually challenged student of the school in April this year.
However, the incident appeared on the media in June this year.
