Imphal, May 07 2016 :
The Mayang Imphal Clubs Coordi-nation Committee (MICCC) has threatened to clamp a 36-hour State-wide bandh with effect from 5 am of May 12 if the Government fails to order a Judicial enquiry to probe into the violent flare-up at Mayang Imphal on April 11 .
This was announced at a meeting held at Mayang Imphal Konchak today.
The committee handed over monetary aid to two persons who were seriously injured in the incident.
Committee general secretary Meinam Khelendro said that in the aftermath of thra-shing of three youths by a mob on Sagai Shabi Karang road on April 7, a violent flare-up broke out at Mayang Imphal on April 11 .
Several persons were injured and many houses and shops were burnt down during the clash, he said.
However, the Government has neither taken any action against the individuals who incited the mob nor provided any assistance to the injured victims and the persons who lost property.
As such, the committee decided to hand over monetary aid of Rs 2 lakh each with the help of the public to two seriously injured persons Moirangthem Premkumar (Kokngang), Ngangom (O) Maipakpi Devi.
The bullets which hit them on the day are yet to be removed from their bodies, he said.
As both the persons have been referred to a hospital in Guwahati, the committee decided to make a little contribution for their treatment, he added.
Khelendro lamented that the Government is yet to compensate the victims and punish the individuals who incited the mob to burn down houses and shops and injure innocent persons.
As such, the committee would impose a 36-hour State-wide bandh from 5 am of May 12 if a judicial probe is not ordered at the earliest.
