Imphal, November 01 2008:
The Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) has accused one Veterinary Officer posted at Chandrapur, Jiribam for duping a large number of people with false promises of appointment in Master Roll and to provide poultry and cattle for rearing.
According to a press release issued by JDO, the particular Veterinary officer fled away to Imphal after collecting a large sum of money from Jiribam people deceiving them with the false promises.
Since she was posted at Jiribam, the officer never settled at her place of posting.
She used to come to Jiribam at night only at the time of drawing salaries.
Alleging that the officer was not competent to head the Jiribam Veterinary office, the JDO accused the officer of acting against the interest of Jiribam public on several occasions.
Informing that the particular officer has been prohibited from coming to Jiribam, the JDO warned that she should involve herself in any work related to the Jiribam Veterinary office.
A month long investigation by a special team of the JDO into the activities of Jiribam Veterinary Office found that funds sanctioned to the office for maintenance under LOC have been misappropriated by the particular officer, it alleged.
Saying that some sub-ordinate staff were also involved in conniving with the officer, the JDO warned them to rectify their mistakes before their names and fraudulent practices are published in mass media.
The JDO further informed that it has mounted vigil on the functioning of all the Government offices located at Jiribam.
