NPF alleges breach of Code of Conduct

The Naga Peoples Front (NPF) has said that Sambhu Singh (IAS), the Nodal Officer for the Northeast, Ministry of Home Affairs deserves the "severest disciplinary action for gross misconduct" in breach of election Code of Conduct.
The NPF has accused Singh of "arrogant conduct and for defiling the sanctity of important constitutional exercise".
In a letter to the Chief Election Commission of India, the Working President of Manipur's NPF unit Sword Vashum claimed that Sambhu Singh was in the official delegation deputed by the Government of India to oversee law and order situation in Manipur in the run-up to the 10th Manipur Assembly Election.
Vashum pointed out that "for reason totally unknown and of course uncalled for, Sambhu Singh was present in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, on the Jananuary 12 where the scrutiny of nomination paper of AC 47, 48 and 49 was on." He added, "As a responsible senior officer, Government of India, he should have, in the first place, avoided showing up in the DC's office chamber during the time of scrutiny of nomination papers, but far from it, he had the audacity to conduct himself in a very unbecoming and arrogant manner".
The NPF working president further alleged that the Home Ministry official "Instead of being the protector of constitutional sanctity of election process, he, by his unbecoming and arrogant conduct defiled the sanctity of important constitutional exercise".
The NPF has asserted that Sambhu Singh deserves "severest disciplinary action" for the "gross misconduct".
