Imphal, January 25, 2012:
Apparently referring to the Naga People's Front, Manipur People's Party (MPP) leader Okram Joy Singh asserted that any agenda of elected representatives intent on creating divisions in the society and disturbing the unity and territorial integrity of Manipur would be effectively tackled on the floor of the Assembly.
Addressing a public meeting at an open space close to the historic Leishang hiden (canal) under Langthabal AC today, Joy advised NPF leaders and candidates to refrain from commenting boisterously on the unity and territorial integrity issue of Manipur.
He affirmed that MPP is prepared to confront any challenge posed to the unity and territorial integrity of Manipur if and when brought to the floor of the Assembly.
Opining that the upcoming election is being held in the backdrop of challenges posed to the unity and territorial integrity of Manipur, Joy said it is the prerogative of the people to decide who they would sent to the Assembly.
The meeting was preceded by a rally in areas covered by Langthabal Assembly Constituency.
