No respite from bomb attacks, one hurt

At least one person was injured in a serial blast today at Kakwa Bazar while bomb attacks against the political workers of the ensuing elections still continue in the valley districts.
Meanwhile CorCom has claimed responsibility for the blast and listed the vehicles allegedly used by Congress candidates and their supporters for canvassing.
The numbers of vehicles given constituency wise are, 10 in Sekmai, 6 in Wangkhei, 12 in Jiribam, 3 in Jiribam, 1 in Uripok, 4 in Thongju, 2 in Bishnupur, 8 in Keirao, 3 in Konthoujam, 2 in Thangmeiband, 2 in Oinam, 9 in Wangkhem, 2 in Sugnu, 4 in Moirang, 3 in Thanga, 4 in Khurai, 1 in Andro and 1 in Heirok.
Two powerful bombs exploded within ten minutes at Kakwa Bazar market shed area around 6.50 pm today and injured a woman identified as Laishram Shanti (48) w/o Chaoba of Kakwa Asem Leikai.
Following the incident, high officials of Manipur police along with explosive experts launched a search operation at the blast site.
Meanwhile, a bomb suspected to be lobbed by some unidentified persons exploded at Kongba Uchekon residence of one Moirangthem Bidhu (76) last night.
The bomb went off near the back side of the house but there is no report of casualty from the blast.
In yet another incident, some unknown persons exploded a hand grenade at the residence of one Asem Bishworjit (45) of Ishok Maning Leikai of Nambol AC at around 1 am today.
Following the blast, several rounds of shots were also fired at Ishok Mamang Leikai road by some unknown persons at round 2 pm today.
Meanwhile, police retrieved a hand grenade from the Nongada Awang Leikai residence of one Pheiroijam Nagir Singh (42), a CPI worker of Lamlai AC today morning.
Some unknown armed persons also fired a lathode shell at the residence of one Akoijam Ibomcha (45) of Yumnam Khunou Mayai Leikai under a CPI worker of Lamlai AC today morning.
Some unknown armed persons also fired a lathode shell at the residence of one Akoijam Ibomcha (45) of Yumnam Khunou Mayai Leikai under Khudrakpam AC at around 9.30 pm yesterday.
The lathode shell which failed to go off was picked up by a police team today morning.
Another Chinese made hand grenade was found today morning at around 6.30 am at the residence of Pheiroijam Hemanta (40), an INC worker from Samurou Lai Mandop.
A bomb was also lobbed at the residence of one Chirom Chaoba of Thoubal Leishangthem Khong Manung today at about 8.50 pm.
The bomb exploded but no one was injured in the attack.
