5 UGs, two foreigners arrested

A team of Imphal East district police commandos arrested four PREPAK cadres including two women and Imphal East District Commander of PULF during the last 24 hours from different places.
In the first instance, a team of the Imphal East district police commandos arrested four PREPAK cadres yesterday from a place near Manu English School in Checkon area of Imphal East, according to Imphal East district SP's statement.
The arrested cadres were Kumar Jacky Singh alias Bung (30) s/o (L) K Ram of Moirang Kumam Leikai presently putting up at Kanglatombi; Thounaojam Ningol Hemabati alias Hema Devi (37) wife of Kumar Jacky; Elangbam Priyo alias Kesho (36) son of E Dwijamani of Lamjao Awang Leikai presently staying at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai and Mongjam Ningol Sunita (39) wife of E Priyo.
They were reported to have joined the outfit in January 2011 through one Tangba, who is now in Myanmar.
They were involved in recruiting youths for the outfit.
They were also reported to have revealed that two youths Manihar (24) and Moirangjao, both from Hojai Langka in Assam were recruited by them recently.
Further the Imphal West commandos also arrested one PULF cadre today from Kairang area.
He has been identified as Md Abash Khan alias Aba 927) son of Md Aouriya of Khurai Heikru Makhong.
He is said to disclose that he had joined the outfit in 2006 through one Md Samir of Kairang and got training at Lairamkhullen under Army No 612 .
He was said to be involved in extortion of money from the general public, government officials, private firms, etc and transportation of arms from place to place.
He is now holding the rank of District Commander, Imphal East of PULF, according to the SP's statement.
Meanwhile, troops of 24 AR apprehended two Myanmar nationals from Chamol area yesterday while launching an operation, according to an IGAR (S) statement.
The apprehendees were identified as Romal Sawm (25) s/o Rozika and Sermonthangi (24) d/o Thangu both residents of Tahen, Kalemyo, Myanmar.
Two identity cards, one mobile phone and Indian currency of Rs 9480 were recovered from the apprehendees, who alongwith recoveries were handed over to Tengnoupal Police station, it added.
