Employee stages sit-in

Imphal, September 09 2013:
An employee of Manipur Pollution Control Board has staged a lone sit-in protest demanding payment of pending five months salary to employees of MPCB today at the gate of MPCB, Lamphelpat.
T Netrajit Singh, Sample Collector of MPCB, Lamphelpat staged the lone sit-in from 9.30am till 4.30pm on behalf of the employees of the MPCB.
Although officials of the MPCB urged Netrajit to stop the sit-in by assuring him to bring the matter to higher authorities, he turned down all requests and went ahead with the protest.

Speaking to reporters, Netrajit said that he volunteered to stage the sit-in on behalf of the 19 regular employees of the MPCB to demand payment of pending salaries.
He said that he has been hit hard by irregular and untimely payment of salary that prompted him to take the drastic step of staging a lone sit-in.
