Free KSA volunteers demand raised

Imphal, June 09 2016: Around 1500 people including students and womenfolk took out a rally demanding immediate release of the arrested KSA executives and implementation of ILPS at Shamurou today.

The rally began from Brilliant Public School and culminated at Shamurou bazar after passing through Oinam Leikai and adjoining localities.

The rallyists formed a human chain and raised slogans at Shamurou bazar.

Students of Little Master English Higher Secondary School, Brilliant Public School, Thambal Academy, Shamurou Govt High School, people of Shamurou Awang Leikai, Makha Leikai, Mayai Leikai, Mamang Leikai, Naorem and Oinam Sawombung took part in the rally.

HRD secretary of KSA Angouton Khuman said that the Government has not released the five arrested executives of KSA till date despite intense movement.

Saying that KSA is now ready to respond befittingly to the Government's arrogance, he said that the Government must be held responsible for any eventuality arising out of the issue.

In order to secure release of the arrested executives, KSA would announce various agitations including bandhs, general strikes and NH blockades etc one after another, he said.

Urging the public to bear the inconvenience with the student body, Angouton appealed the people of the State to extend support to these agitations.

He said that KSA may even impose month-long bandhs and boycott classes in all the educational institutes in case the executives are not freed even after launching of the first phase of intense agitations.

Disable Development Association general secretary Md Yunush Khan said that the Government must spell out the reason why KSA executives are detained.

He also demanded action against the non-locals who were pulled up by KSA executives for adulterating common salt.

Carrying on the mass movement demanding ILPS implementation, womenfolk staged sit-in-protests at Hiyangthang Keithel, Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai, Langthabal Lep Mayai Leikai and Haobam Marak Ngangom today.

A similar protest was also staged at Thongkhong Keithel on Mayai Lambi.

Womenfolk and local club volunteers of Thongkhong Keithel and nearby areas took part in the protest.

Later, the protesters formed a human chain and raised slogans like 'implement ILPS in the State' and 'we condemn wanted tag on Kh Ratan' etc.
