More houses burnt at Bishnupur, Langol

There is no let up in cases of arson as suspected Kuki militants reportedly burnt many more houses at different places in Bishnupur.
A late report said that a number of uninhabited houses at Langol have been set afire, though there are security forces all around.
In another instance, Border Security Force (BSF) and cadres of a Kuki militant group under Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact exchanged heavy fire near Royal Dairy Farm at Phougakchao Ikhai last night around 7.44 pm.
It is said that the gunfight lasted for about one and a half hour.
There is no report of any casualty.
20 houses were burnt at Kangvai Mamang and Torbung while the remaining 15 were at Gelmol Meitei Leikai (Okshongbung Khunou), Malom and Uyungmakhong under Moirang police station in between 11 pm (last night) and 6 pm (today).
Speaking to this correspondent, a local of Kangvai claimed that the Kuki militants started burning the houses after firing some rounds first.
Another local said that the site of arson was surrounded by Central and State security forces in all four directions.
The Indian Army is deployed at Kangvai Bazar, Phougakchao Mamang and the southern side of Torbung while there is Phougakchao police station in the southern side, she said.
