A joint security meeting for better coordination in counter insurgency operation was held today at Kangla fort as part of the new administration's effort to make counter insurgency operation more effective.
The state level security meeting for better coordination among security forces was presided over by the GOC 57 Mountain Division, Maj General Iqbal Singh.
Inspector generals of the state police force, Border Security Force and DIGS of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Manipur Range Assam Rifles also attended the meet.
After threadbare discussion on coordination among security forces operating in the state in counter insurgency operations and the �basic ground realities�, it was agreed on all sides to share intelligence inputs, deployment and operation, highly placed sources said.
Among others, the high level security meeting also resolved to formulate effective modalities in counter insurgency operation and also to hold such coordination meeting on a weekly, basis.
The security officials also agreed to conduct joint operations simultaneously in the hills as well as the valley by setting up four range headquarters through which other security forces will assist their concerned DIG range.
