Imphal, December 11:
Reacting to the statement issued by the KNF concerning the killing of four persons at Kangpokpi, the JAC Against the Killing of 4 Persons at Kangpokpi on 3rd December has rejected the accusations levelled against the deceased.
A statement issued by the JAC noted that it was customary for a UG group to publish the charges and parade an accused before the media if the individual is to be awarded capital punishment.
On the contrary, KNF issued the charges only after killing all the accused, that too after a gap of seven days.
Questioning the credibility of the charges levelled against the four individuals by KNF, the JAC maintained that Chandrakanta was dealing in ngari business while Dharmendra was only a carpenter.
Hemanta was doing jewellery works at Kangpokpi in spare time while engaging himself in cultivation works at home most of the time.
What sounds most unconvincing of the charges made by KNF is the case of Bishwarjit.
He was a man confined to Ukhongsang village, leading a simple life with his wife and family as a humble cultivator.
He was going to Kangpokpi only for the second time to his brother-in-law's (Dharmendra) place to sell away a few bags of paddy, asserted the JAC.
The JAC also appealed to KNO/KNA if the four deceased individuals had any connection with the outfit or whether they were cadres of KNO/KNA.
