Royal Riders in Ukhrul with Sangai Fest message

The first leg of the awareness cum promotional rally organised in connection with the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival 2010 to be held from November 21 to 28 reached Ukhrul district headquarters today at around 1.30 pm.
The rally, taken part by around 70 volunteers of Royal Riders Manipur conducted a brief but impressive poster campaign spreading awareness on tourism at the gate of Viewland Church and town hall and submitted written documents to the SP and DC Ukhrul.
President of Royal Riders informed The Sangai Express that State Tourism Department has been organising Manipur Sangai Festival every year.
The festival strives to showcase and promote the multi-culture art and culture, indigenous sports, eco and adventure sports as well as the scenic beauty of the State, he added.

This year, the festival would be celebrated under the theme, 'To protect and showcase Manipur and promote it as one of the favourite tourist destination to create an ambience of communal harmony and generate a feeling of oneness' .
One of the members of the rally team, Holendro observed that this year, festival would be grandeur in scale and more stylish as many Indian States, foreign Ambassadors and scores of cultural troupes would participate.
Amongst others, fashion shows, rock shows, theme district days, local delicacies and multi-colour cultural shows would attract domestic and foreign tourists to the festival.
The rally was earlier flagged off from Hotel Imphal in the State capital by Tourism Commissioner KK Chhetri this morning.
In the second phase, the team will travel to Senapati, Tamei and Tamenlong.
The team will cover Churachandpur and Chandel in the third phase.
