Chief Minister O Ibobi has honoured four extra-ordinary blood donors on the occasion of World AIDS Day observance at 1st Bn MR ground today.
Though Kh Premjit (32) of Lamdeng Makha Leikai has lost his eye-sight, he has donated blood 34 times.
Waikhom Monalisa (26) of Wangkhei Lourembam Leikai has also donated blood eight times in spite of being a physically challenged person.
Elangbam Lokendro of Tera Sapam Leirak and his wife Sheela Devi have also donated blood quite regularly, their figures standing at 24 and 22 respectively.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi honoured all four of them by presenting a shawl each.
But what stole the hearts of the audience and evoked a resounding applause was Kh Premjit trudging towards the pavilion and Monalisa being carried in a wheel-chair to receive the honour.
Both Premjit and Monalisa said they would continue donating blood to help save precious lives in their own capacities.
