Office ransacked : NPF accuses Congress

The office of Naga People's Front (NPF) in Tengpoupal Assembly Constituency in Chandel district was allegedly dismantled by the Congress party workers, according to the NPF of Chandel unit.Alleging that about 100 supporters of Indian National Congress (INC) loaded in one Shaktiman truck, two Bolero, four Maruti Gypsy, one Tata Sumo, two Maruti cars, four Maruti vans along with 20 two wheelers came at Marimchi in Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency and ransacked the NPF office.Chandel district NPF president Paulring Langhu in an FIR lodged at the Chandel police station addressed to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Chandel said DK Korungthang's workers dismantled the NPF office at Marimchi.DK Korungthang is the INC candidate from Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency while Kh David Charanga is the NPF candidate of that constituency.In the FIR, Paulring Langhu alleged that the Congress workers made "several criminal intimidation" on the NPF workers that day.
The supporters of DK Korungthang also damaged the vehicles of the NPF workers at Marimchi, said the FIR.However, the NPF workers refrained themselves though they were provoked to the limit, it added.The FIR further alleged that after the Congress workers had left the spot, Assam Rifles personnel came and assaulted the NPF workers and supporters black and blue.The NPF FIR also said that 18 workers of the NPF have been thrashed by the Assam Rifles personnel.
Praying the SP, Chandel to intervene on the matter, the NPF mentioned six Congress workers who allegedly led the Sunday incident.
