CM to take up Supra issue with Delhi

Taking serious note of the Supra State body model reported in the media in the last few days, Chief Minister O Ibobi is set to proceed to Delhi in two/three days time to meet the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Sonia Gandhi and present the case of Manipur.
Briefing newsmen after the Cabinet meeting today evening, SPF spokesperson N Biren said that the Cabinet has taken serious note of the matter and the Chief Minister will go to Delhi in the next couple of days to urge Delhi not to take any decision without consulting the State Government.
The matter was discussed minutely during the Cabinet meeting, said Biren and added that it was duly noted that such a development before the election is not healthy.
"The tension and problems such an announcement can evoke was discussed threadbare during the meeting," said Biren.
During his stay at Delhi, the Chief Minister will also try to confirm the visit of the Prime Minister to Manipur.
The spokesman further said that the State Government will seek a Rs 5000 to Rs 6000 package from the Prime Minister for the water supply scheme from Thoubal dam to Imphal, Tipaimukh dam, Loktak Downstream Project and upgradation of Tulihal airport.
To protect the rights of the child, the Cabinet has approved the setting up of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, said Biren and added that the Centre has also been intimated that the State Government will formulate its own version of Lok Ayukta.
The intimation was sent after the Centre asked for the date for the passing of Lok Ayukta.
The State has six days stock of petroleum products said Biren and added that new mechanisms like marking the RC Book may be adopted to check panic buying.
The pay of part timers will be increased to Rs 13,500 per month, said the spokesman further.
