BJP names Gangmumei Kamei for Outer seat

The State Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has named Prof Gangmumei Kamei as its Outer Manipur Parlia-mentary Constituency candi- date for the forth coming Lok Sabha election.
However, the party has not yet come out with its candidate for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
This was announced today during a press meet held at the party's office located at Nityapat Chuthek by Vice President of the BJP Manipur Pradesh, Th Nandakishwor Singh.
Launching a diatribe against the ruling Congress Government in the State, Th Nandakishwor Singh said the State is not expected to gain any benefits from the Food Security Bill in the absence of proper road for shipping in foodgrains and other items from outside.
Keeping aside the promise of distributing rice at Rs 3 per kg, the price of superfine rice has reached Rs 25 per kg at local markets, he pointed out.
Saying that the Public Distribution System (PDS) is a total failure in the State, Nandakishwor charged the MLAs and Ministers of looting the people.
Taking a dig at the Government for its alleged failure in maintaining law and order, the BJP Vice-President strongly come down on the State Home department for its reported failure to book the culprits involved in the recent blast incidents in Imphal while also demanding the resignation of the Home Minister on moral ground.
Nandakishwor also strongly criticised the Government for its failure to maintain the two National Highways that pass through the State.
He urged the public concerned to contribute their mite in bringing a change in the State.
Addressing the press meet, Spokesman of BJP Manipur and ex-MLA Salam Ibohal said the party has begun the ground work for the coming Parliamentary election in Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
The same would begin in Inner Manipur constituency once the candidate is finalised, he said.
The party Central leaders are convening a meeting at Guwahati on Sept 18 wherein the party candidate for Inner Manipur would be finalised.
The meeting would be attended by the BJP National President, Rajnath, he said.
