CBI files FIR against NYK official

CBI Anti corruption Bureau (CBI/ACB) Imphal, registered an FIR against Kh Ibohanbi, State Director in-charge of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kohima, on December 30, for alleged possession of property disproportionate to his known source of income.
The FIR was registered under different sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The disproportionate assets were allegedly piled up from January 1, 2013 to May 31 last year, by Kh Ibohanbi of Wangkhei Angom Leikai.
According to the CBI, Khagembam Ibohanbi joined service as a Youth Coordinator in Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and he was promoted to Deputy Director on May 28 last year.
It alleged that prior to January 1, 2013, Ibohanbi possessed movable assets amounting to a total of Rs 1,22,829 in the form of his bank account and wife's account balance.
He had also purchased a homestead at Wangkhei Angom Leikai.
CBI alleged that Ibohanbi acquired huge assets, both moveable and immovable, during the period from January 1, 2013 to May 31 last year, amounting to around Rs 2,13,13,193 and he had also constructed an RCC building at his Wangkhei Angom Leikai homestead.
Explaining that the total income of Ibohanbi and his wife from all known sources of income like monthly salaries, housing loan, personal loan, car loan etc, comes to around Rs 1,34,36,547 during the aforementioned period, the CBI claimed that the total expenditure incurred by Ibohanbi and his family members for repayment of housing loan/ personnel loan, car loan etc come to the tune of Rs 56,68,782 and as such, the amount of disproportionate assets come to the extent of around Rs 1,34,22,599 which Ibohanbi cannot satisfactorily account for.
The FIR also explained that the percentage of disproportionate assets will increase after taking into consideration the expenditures incurred by him for the education of his children and other luxurious household items including ornaments etc.
