Along with dispensing their professional assignments with diligence, CRPF personnel reasserted humanitarian service being rendered to the society by donating over 85 unit of blood at different locations today.
In celebrating 71st anniversary of the CRPF, blood donation camps were organised at the 69 Bn headquarters in Mantripukhri and at the Lamphelpat head-quarters of 143 battalion.
While 40 personnel of the 69 Bn donated blood at the camp held under the supervision of a medical team of RIMS Blood Bank, 143 Bn Commandant Harjinder Singh Bains led 45 other personnel of the battalion in the humanitarian cause.
Blood donation camp at Lamphelpat was also held in collaboration with IHBT, RIMS.

The blood donation camp at Mantripukhri was formally opened by the 69 Bn Commandant UB Mishra, who also interacted with the jawans.
It is informed that objective of organising the blood donation programme was to encourage others to come forward for the good cause and educate the troops about the benefits and need of blood donation.
Among the 69 Bn personnel who donated blood today, Hcl/Gd Antappa, Hcl/Dvr A Subhash, Cl/Gd Naresh, Ct/Gd Rakesh Yadav, Ct/Gd Amit Tyagi and Ct/SK Radha Krishna are informed to be regular donors.
the camps were held as a part of the weeklong celebration of the CRPF's 71st anniversary, which will conclude tomorrow at their respective battalion headquarters.
Mention may be made that the security coverage to transporters along the vital Imphal-Dimapur section of National Highway-39 is being provided under the overall supervision of 69 Bn, whose personnel were also deployed at strategic locations along the Imphal-Jiribam section of National Highway-53 for safeguarding goods carriers and public transport operators.
It is also pertinent to add that supply of essential commodities through these routes had come under constant threats owing to prolong economic blockade agitation by some NGOs based in the hill areas.
Personnel of 69 Bn are also presently deployed to safeguard many important institutions spread in Imphal and greater Imphal areas.
The cRPF is said to have been raised at Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh in 1939 as Crown's Representative Police consequently rechristened Central Reserve Police Force by S Vallabh Bhai Patel.
Over the years the force has reportedly grown from a single battalion to 213 Bns.
Sports events and extra-curricular activities were also conducted on the first few days of the weeklong celebration.
