Along with the arrest of the RPF Division VI Secretary, a large cache of arms and ammunition have also been seized/recovered.
Parading the arrested Division VI Secretary before media persons at Commando Complex today, Imphal West Additional SP Dr AK Jhalajit said that a combined team of Imphal West commandos and troops of 39 Assam Rifles, acting on a specific tip off, conducted a search operation at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai and arrested the Division Secretary.
The RPF's Division VI Secretary has been identified as Thounaojam Subashchandra alias Sanju alias Bony (27) s/o Manihar of Wabagai Leirak Achouba.

Subsequent upon the disclosure of Subashchandra, follow-up search operation was launched during which another large consignment of arms and ammunition hidden at three different places in Thoubal district have been recovered by a combined team of Imphal West commandos, Thoubal police commandos and troops of 39 AR.
In the first instance, one AK-56 rifle, one magazine with 20 live rounds of AK 56, one 9 mm pistol with magazine and four live rounds were recovered from the house of a fisherman, namely Tongbram Tomba Meitei (50) of Tokpaching.
Another AK 56 rifle with two magazines and 38 live rounds were recovered from a house located at Irengband.
The house belongs to one fishmonger known by the name of Ima Memcha.
Further, one 9 mm pistol with a magazine and six live rounds were recovered from the house of a woman of Yairipok Pechi Awang Leikai.
The particular woman is said to be secretary of a Meira Paibi group.
Division Secretary Subashchandra took major roles in organising Nupi Lan functions, said Dr Jhalajit adding that further investigation is on.
UG cadres held: One PLA cadre identified as Sarangthem Ranjit alias Chandra alias Ratan Singh (42) s/o S Shantaram of Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai, Keibung was arrested by a combined team of Imphal West commandos and troops of 28 AR from Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai community hall at about 1.30 pm yesterday, said Imphal West SSP in a release.
On the other hand, two KCP cadres were also apprehended by another team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 28 AR from Lilong Turel Ahanbi at about 6 pm yesterday.
A press release issued by Thoubal SSP Clay Khongsai identified the KCP cadres as Md Nashir (18) s/o Md Habibur Rahaman alias Iboyai and Md Samir alias Kurban (18) s/o Md Manwar, both from Lilong Makha Leikai.
Another KCP cadre identified as Thangjam Santa Singh alias Thoibi (39) of Yairipok Top Chingtha Pukhri Achouba Mapal was also pulled up by a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 16 AR from Yairipok Top Chingtha at about 11 pm yesterday, added the release.
