Boy escapes from 'kidnappers'

A 12-year-old boy from Singjamei Chingamakha Kshetri Leikai has miraculously escaped from his alleged abductors this afternoon.
The boy has been identified as Kshetrimayum Alex s/o Lalit of Singjamei Chinga-makha Kshetri Leikai.
After reaching home safely, the boy told reporters at Model Club that he came out from his house to go for tuition at around 3 pm.
Even as he was heading towards the house of his teacher, four unknown persons who came in a white coloured Maruti car suddenly gagged him from behind and pulled him inside the vehicle and drove towards an unknown direction.
Alex said that he did not know what was going on and in which direction they were heading for a few minutes.
Three of the unknown persons wore mask and black caps while the fourth man covered his face with a handkerchief, the boy said.
When they were passing through Liwa road, he came to know about the area, he said and added that when they reached Waikhom Leikai area, he hit the man who was holding him with his elbow on the jaw and kicked another kidnapper and jumped down from the car.
Soon after he jumped down from the car, the unknown persons fled from the spot by turning back their vehicle, the boy said.
Alex further said that as he knew the area, he crossed the paddy field located near Kakwa police station and went to one of his aunt's house.
After his aunt informed his parents, the boy was brought to his house safely.
One of the club members stated that such act is condemnable and the people of the locality need to stand united against such unwanted incidents.
He also said that locals need to deliberate the matter so that such incidents do not happen in future.
The club member further said that people must help the law enforcing agencies to check such crimes.
