Govt extends ex-gratia

Imphal, June 13 2016:
The State Government has provided monetary
assistance to the family of Huidrom Tomba who was electrocuted
at Ishok Chingphu Terapokpi, Bishnupur district.
The money was handed over to Tomba's wife by Nambol
AC MLA Nameirakpam Loken at a public held today at Ishok
Ningthou-Sembi Leima premises under the aegis of the JAC
Against the Unnatural Death of Huidrom Tomba and Oinam
Ramkumar by Electric Shock.
Officials of MSPDCL Bishnupur Division and district
administration were also present at the gathering.
Speaking at the gathering, MLA N Loken said that
MSPDCL's faulty way of stringing power lines was respon-
sible for the death of the two persons.
To avoid such tragic incidents, worn out electric poles
would be replaced and AB cables would be introduced, and
the same work would be started from August, Loken said.
He then handed over Rs one lakh to late Tomba's amount,
He said that another Rs one lakh would be given to the
family of late Oinam Ramkumar on Wednesday.
Huidrom Tomba of Ishok Maning Leikai and Oinam
Ramkumar of Ningthoukhong were electrocuted on June 9 at
Ishok Chingphu Terapokpi.
MSPDCL Bishnupur Division
Deputy General Manager Ibomcha Sharma too provided
monetary assistance to the families of the deceased.
