Drug owner pulled up, remanded

A man who is said to be the owner of the drug consignment seized from a team of Manipur Police commandos posted at Moreh on April 28 at Pallel was pulled up by police yesterday morning.
However, another man involved in the drug deal identified as Md Ali alias Liaqat Ali of Lilong Leihao-khong is absconding.
Alleged owner of the drug consignment Lalminsanga (30) s/o Khankhuma of Moreh Ward No 2 was pulled by a police team led by Moreh commando unit in-charge James Thangal under the supervision of SDPO Balram.
Lalminsanga was pulled up based on the disclosure of former Moreh Commando OC RK Binodjit who was already arrested.
SI Devson and Jemadar Premananda while deposing before the Court disclosed that they were ordered to deliver the drug consignment worth Rs 3.5 crores to Lalminsanga.
Devson and Premananda have been already sent to jail.
Lalminsanga was produced before CJM Thoubal A Noutuneshwari this afternoon who remanded him to police custody till May 17 .
It is said that Lalminsanga would be produced before ND&PS Court at Lamphelpt after May 17 .
On the other hand, Md Ali alias Liaqat Ali of Lilong Leihaokhong, another accused in the drug deal could not be arrested till date despite repeated raids at his home by police.
