SCS(Senior Citizens for Society) moots effective investigation

Senior Citizens for Society has said that no culprit of crime against women can be brought to justice if strong and effective chargesheets are not framed against them.
Society Secretary Advocate Khaidem Mani said that serious cases of crime must be handed over to investigation agencies to ensure proper investigation.
Although, Manipur has witnessed numerous serious crimes in the recent past, number of Session Trial remains hovering between 30 to 40, Khaidem Mani said.
Stressing on the need for scientific investigation, he said that fast track Courts do not have enough number of cases for trial.
No culprit can escape from justice if effective and strong chargesheets are framed against them by handing over the cases to investigation agencies like CBI, he pointed out.
Society General Secretary L Sadananda said that a number of drug trafficking and crimes against women cases are happening in the State every now and then.
However, the cases are remaining stagnant as no proper investigation is done after the accused persons are sent to jail.
Expressing concern over the involvement of uniformed persons in serious crimes, L Sadananda said that the root cause for such crimes must be traced out.
He however said that 'money addiction' is one of the causes for involvement of law enforcing individuals and agencies in the crimes happening in the State.
In order to check the menace, Sadananda said, giving proper and value based education at primary to higher secondary level has become a must.
Saying that fast track Courts are unable to work properly in the State, Sadananda said that the State needs to cease 'justice delayed is justice denied' .
Society President N Binoy said that good governance can give not only quality education to students but also reduce crimes.
He also urged the general public not to indulge in mob trial but to bring the culprits before the law Court.
Condemning the arson of Silent village, Sadananda said that nobody must give communal interpretation to the incident.
