Addressing a press conference held today at the Manipur People's Party office, O Joy MLA and president of the party said that the cabinet decision of the government of Manipur for fresh recruitment of two hundred Hindi teachers and four hundred ten of SSA is unjustified.
According to the decision arrived at on December 1, one hundred Hindi teachers of matriculate and another hundred for graduate will be recruited.
He said that the government of Manipur should not isolate one hundred and forty-six DPC selected candidates for the appointment as Hindi graduate teachers in the government schools under the school directorate.
Hew further pointed out that those hundred and forty-six DPC selected candidates met the DPC on June 16, 1999.However, they were not recruited at any school.
So there is no need for fresh recruitment of Hindi teachers.
O Joy added that RK Dorendra MLA, BD Behring MLA, L Ibomcha MLA and himself jointly wrote a letter to the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission on September 19, 2001 for providing fund to accommodate hundred and forty-six DPC selected candidates for appointment as Hindi graduate teachers in government schools under the school directorate, Manipur.
The Deputy Chairman in his reply had indicated that he would discuss the matter during his visit to Imphal in connection with quality performance review meeting, which was scheduled on November 11 last year.
The matter, however, could not be materialised as none of the senior officers of the Education Department of the government of Manipur was available for discussions.
The MPP leader was of the opinion that the government of Manipur should not suppress the hundred and forty-six DPC passed Hindi graduate teachers.
They should be recruited, he said.
He also said that he would send letter to the chief secretary of state in this regard to look into the matter.
On the abduction of three engineers of the Public Health Engineering Department by Kuki Liberation Army, he said that the act is highly condemnable.
It is an act of terrorism.
The government of Manipur should call a meeting of all political parties of the state to discuss the matter, as it is a serious concern for all.
He said that the trend of kidnapping people to be exchanged with money has become a regular feature in the state.
It is time that the all the political parties met to discuss the issue as such trends have affected the people.
