Imphal, June 17 2021:
As part of the nationwide protests called by Left parties against the rising fuel prices and essential items from June 16 to 30, a protest was staged at Khamnam Bazar, Patsoi AC on Thursday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, CPI Patsoi Local Council secretary Khumukcham Joykumar contended that the skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel and other daily essential goods is fallout of the anti-poor policy of the BJP government.
As such, he urged the government to reduce the fuel prices and control the rates of essential goods and medicines in the interest of the people.
CPI Manipur secretary L Sotinkumar, who also took part in the protest, appealed to the people to continue the protest, while secretary Kshetrimayum Shanta appealed to all concerned to support the working class by continuing the protest.
