Many organisations condoled the demise of notable personalities over the past few days.
Translators Forum Manipur condoled the demise of eminent writer and its former president Dr Jodhachandra Sanasam.
The forum recalled the enormous contributions in the field of literature by Dr Jodhachandra Sanasam and said his demise will leave an irreparable void in the State.
Translators Forum Manipur also prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura also sent in condolences on the demise of Dr Jodhachandra Sanasam.
Writers Forum Imphal mourned the death of Thiyam Ibohal popularly known as 'Kabi Chaoba'.
Born in 1942 at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, Kabi Chaoba played a major role in the development of literature in the State and many were inspired by him and his works.
A condolence message of Writers Forum remembered him as a dedicated member of the forum who took part in most of the activities carried out by the forum who gave valuable inputs and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace and also shared the grief and loss of the bereaved family.
Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL), Manipur condoled the sudden demise of Hem Athokpam alias Taton who was the vice president of the Lup.
KKL in a statement said Taton was an avid lover of photography and worked earnestly for the development of culture in the State.
Acknowledging his selfless contributions in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic by being a leader of Kangleipak Kanba Lup Covid Warrior Team, he has been awarded the title of 'Athouba Achangba Covid Warrior' by KKL.
