Govt studies Bill ahead of meeting JCILPS

After a round of meeting was held yesterday between the Government and JCILPS, the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers deliberated on the fresh Bill prepared by a drafting committee together with members of the same committee.
The fresh Bill was prepared after withdrawing the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill.
The meeting held this afternoon with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair discussed about the points suggested by JCILPS as well as the second round of meeting scheduled tomorrow with JCILPS leaders, informed a source.
All the protesters/students who are currently lodged in judicial custody may be released tomorrow.
Ibobi also gave a report about his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh with regard to the framework agreement of
August 3 .
The Chief Minister will soon convene a CLP meeting and another meeting of all political parties to discuss the agreement collectively, added the source.
