Condolences pour in over demise of Dr S Ibocha

Condolences have poured in over the untimely demise of Dr Soibam Ibocha, who passed away yesterday due to COVID-19 .
At the time of his death, Dr Soibam Ibocha was the State Information Commissioner and a retired IPS officer.
Officials and staff of Manipur Information Commission (MIC) expressed grief in a condolence meeting held at the MIC's office premises in Secretariat North Block today.
The staff of MIC and the officials of Administrative Reforms Department paid floral tributes to the departed soul and a two minute silence was observed as a mark of respect, said a press release by MIC.
Oinam Sunil Singh, State Chief Information Commissioner (in-charge) recalled Dr Ibocha as a 'great human being' who always gave a helping hand to his colleagues.
He also stated that the State and the MIC have lost a good leader and his demise will leave an irreparable void.

It may be mentioned that Dr Ibocha was also the State Interlocutor in the peace talks with Kuki rebel groups/SoO groups.
The IPS Officers' Association, Manipur Chapter has also condoled the demise of the retired IPS officer.
A condolence meeting held today at the office of DGP LM Khaute observed a two minute silence to pray for the departed soul.
Giving a brief background of the late man, the IPS Officers Association in a statement said that he joined Manipur police as an MPS officer in 1983 and retired as an IGP in 2018 after which he was appointed as the State Information Commissioner.
The Association also extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
Mourning his demise, Writers' Forum Imphal also held an online condolence meeting today led by its president, Keisham Priyokumar, said a press release from the Forum.
The members of the Forum remembered Dr S Ibocha as an eminent translator, writer and academician of the State who during his lifetime contributed majorly to elevate Manipuri literature and earned many accolades for his commendable works.
The attendees also prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace and extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
The Cultural Forum, Manipur too held an online condolence meeting today to condole the demise of Dr S Ibocha Singh who was also a patron member of the Forum.
Manipur State Kala Akademi and Sheihek Sheireng Sheipal Shemgat Lup (SHEIPAL), Imphal also mourned the demise of Dr S Ibocha Singh.
