Imphal, April 29 2015 :
The Chief Secretary of Manipur, under strict instructions from the State Government, has called up attendance reports from heads of various departments to take up stringent actions against those employees who have not turned up at their work places.
Government employees of the State, under the of JAC-AMTUC and AMGEO, have been on strike taking mass casual leave condemning the passive response of the Government to their demands.
On the other hand, Government offices in Manipur today also wore a deserted look on the third day of the protest with employees continuing their mass casual leave stir.
Secretariat office, which is the backbone of all the major Governmental activities in the State, remained empty as its employees did not turn up.
Even media persons were not allowed entry to the office premises by the security guards to deny coverage of the situation.
Many employees of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) also joined the protest on the third day as they merely signed their attendance and left office.
This can be taken as another major push to the strike, as DIPR is the hub of all the information regarding Government activities.
Meanwhile, as instructed and demanded by the Chief Secretary, heads of various Government offices submitted the attendance reports of their employees.
