Imphal, March 28 2016:
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba has exuded that BJP will outperform ruling Congress party in Assam which goes to Assembly election on April 4 and 11 .
A team of the State BJP led by Chaoba joined the party's election campaign in the neighbouring State from March 30 till today.
Speaking to media persons at their office after their return here today, Chaoba said that they held election rallies at different places in support of Lairikyengbam Thoiba who is contesting the Assam Legislative Assembly election.
If the people's response is any indication, BJP can expect an emphatic victory, Chaoba asserted.
In the absence of reliable health care facilities, educational infrastructure and other civic amenities, Lakhimpur Assembly Constituency still remains quite backward.
Notably, Meitei and Meitei Pangal constitute a sizeable section of the populace of Lakhimpur AC.
People are now aware of how the Congress Government misappropriated many public welfare schemes and they have lost all their faith in the Congress party.
Congress party has been uprooted from Uttarakhand and its popularity is fast declining in the North East region too, Chaoba said.
The State BJP team which canvassed for the party in Assam included MLA Th Bishwajit, ex-Minister N Mangi, ex-Minister M Hemanta, BJP State treasurer Robin Blackie, State BJP spokesman RK Shivchandra, BJP State executive members Md AR Khan, K Saratchandra and BJP State secretary Kharga Tamang.
