The Manipuri Students� Federation (MSF) strongly maintained that neither was there any communal tension in Imphal valley nor the lives of Nagas settled in it were threatened.
It charged that the innocent Naga brethren in the valley were either coerced or coaxed into leaving the valley.
Turning on the Central politicians, the MSF resented that the ruling NDA as well as the Opposition parties are only trifling with the issue of the present situation in Manipur and charged that the manner of their reference to the issue during the ongoing Monsoon session of the Parliament is nonchalant.
It expressed doubt that the review of the cease-fire would be done strictly in accordance with the wishes of the people of Manipur.
It said the government of India should not be diffident following the announcement made by the outfit�s secretary of information ministry, V Horam that the NSCN (IM) would return to the warpath if the cease fire is withdrawn from other North Eastern states than Nagaland.
The NSCN (IM) has been but waging was for the last 50 years, it pointed out.
