The United Committee, Manipur (UCM) will seek public support to construct a memorial site at Kekrupat in memory of the 18 martyrs who laid down their lives during the recent anti-ceasefire movement.
The UCM has appealed to all organizations and individuals not to seek any financial help for Kekrupat.
In the meantime, the UCM has changed its letter-head and receipt books.
The new letter head and receipts will bear only the name of UCM and the names of the constituent bodies will not appear in the new letter heads and receipts.
A new office of the UCM's head-office will be inaugurated at Ningthem Pukhri Mapal crossing on September 14 at 8.30 am, it also said.
The Public Relation Offices of the UCM will remain at the offices of AMSU with phone nos (221055 & 246198), UPF (241398), IPSA (241144 & 230554) and AMKIL & NIPCO (244347), it further said.
In continuation of its' programme for the protection of the territorial integrity of Manipur and the emotional unity of its people, the UCM will organize a series of Leaders' Meet at LS Talkies, Thoubal Okram on September 11 at 11 am; Kuki Inn, Imphal on September 12 and Konthoujam on September 15.The issues of Peace & Integrity and the Implementation of the August 29 leaders' meet resolution will be discussed at the Leaders' Meet.
UCM's Legal Cell, public security, economic blockade, existing problems including communal harmony will be discussed at the Leaders' Meet.
The UCM legal received about seven statements from family members concerned today.
Reports from Government and private hospitals on the number of patients admitted and treated were also submitted.
Private and Government hospitals which submitted their reports today include Shija Clinic, Imphal Hospital, JN Hospital and RIMS.
