So far 29,553 educated unemployed youths in seven districts of the State have applied for recruitment to the posts of 675 riflemen of the 3rd India Reserve Battalion (IRB) which is being raised in Manipur with financial assistance from the Centre.
The last date of submitting application forms was September 3.The numbers of application forms obtained by the respective offices of the SP's in the seven districts are � Imphal West (7400), Imphal East excluding Jiribam sub-division (6000), Bishnupur (3190), Churachandpur (2963), Chandel (2000), Thoubal (6000) and Senapati (2000).However the numbers of application form received by the offices of the respective SP's of Ukhrul, Tamenglong and the SDPO of Jiribam sub-division are still not yet known.
The recruitment test for riflemen will be held at all the district headquarters.
However, the recruitment tests for both the Jamadar and Havildar will be held at 1st MR, 2nd MR and the Manipur Police Training School (MPTS), Pangei.
Most of the youths who have applied for recruitment are working overtime to attain peak physical fitness.
The applicants are placing their faith in the PR regime not to give any room to corruption or favoritism.
For the recruitment of 40 Havildars, the number of applications received at the respective offices of SP's in different districts are - Imphal East (1271), Imphal West (1837); Bishnupur (500), Chandel (200 approx), Thoubal (500 approx), Churachandpur (100 approx) and Senapati (100 approx).
More applications are also still pouring in to the SP's offices.
The last date of receiving applications for the poets of Havildar is September 12.The number of applications received so far for recruitment of 12 jamadars of the 3rd IRB in Imphal East is 215, Imphal Vest (552), Bishnupur (80), Thoubal (500 approx), Chandel (100 approx), Churachandpur (100) and Senapati (100 approx).
