Several functions were organized in various parts of the State to pay homage to the martyrs who have given their lives in the course of the anti-ceasefire movement.
The general secretary in charge of AMSU, Md Gaffar and many others led the public in paying floral tributes to the portraits of the slain martyrs, a public meeting was also organized by the AMSU Mayai Lambi Branch at the JS Cinema Hall, Mayang Imphal today.
The function was attended by hundreds of students, meira paibis and club volunteers.
The gathering was addressed by a number of social workers.
The speakers pressed strongly for the unconditional release of the AMSU leaders and others arrested by the state authorities in the course of the territorial integrity movement.
The AMSU, Hiyanglam branch, under the aegis of UCM, also organized another public meeting at 1.00 pm today at Wabagai Lamkhai bazar.
Those who attended paid floral tributes to the martyrs.
Similar public meetings were held at Kumbi, Sangaiyumpham and Lamshang by the respective AMSU branches.
Another huge public meeting was held at Wangoo-Sagang bazar by the Manipuri Apunba Ngamkhei Kanbada Tengbangba Lup in association with the UCM.
