Imphal, November 05 2021:
Dhanamanjuri University of Teachers' Association (DMUTA) on Friday submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren and Education Minister S Rajen urging for appropriate distribution of posts in the state varsity as per the requirement.
As per the memorandum, the Ad Hoc Committee of the constituent colleges of DMU had been urging for covering the teachers of the constituent colleges including the principal under the university.
In pursuance of this demand, the Ad Hoc Committee halted all online and offline classes from January 5 .
The protest was withdrawn on /anuary 11 after a talk with the CM in the presence of the education minister and DMU Vice Chancellor, wherein a positive response was received.
The Committee again submitted a memorandum to the CM and the education minister on August 18, reiterating its demands.
Subsequently, the Directorate of University and Higher Education conducted a preliminary survey to cover teachers of various government colleges under DMU.
However, the registrar of DMU conducted the personal interview for the post of assistant professors on direct recruitment on October 1, which is unfortunate.
The Ad Hoc Committee cannot accept the recruitment process as the above is in complete contrast to its demands, the memorandum conveyed.
On the other hand, advocate Arambam Anilkumar has filed an RTI application to the registrar and Public/Assistant Public Information officer of DMU, seeking information on the number of teachers teaching graduate courses in DMU from April 6, 2018 till September 30, 2021, along with their respective particulars.
