Club decries sexual assault on minor

Ngaikhong Khullen Youth Club has demanded the government to award stringent punishment to the two non-Manipuris who have been arrested in connection with sexual assault on a minor girl on June 10.Speaking to media persons at its office on Sunday, Club member Khwairakpam Sana informed that the victim is still in a critical condition and she is yet to regain consciousness.
Authorities should award stringent punishment to the culprits so that such beastly crimes are not committed again, he said and urged for disclosure of the Forensic report and IO report of the case to strengthen the case against the perpetrators.
Drawing the attention of the chief minister, Sana said that sexually assaulting a young Meitei girl by non-Manipuri amidst the troubling times of Covid-19 should not be taken lightly.
He urged civil society and students' organisations to extend help in delivering justice to the victim.
Sana further cautioned that the Club along with meira paibi bodies and CSOs will launch intense protests if authorities concerned acted against the wishes of the people.
