Nemcha Kipgen leads advocacy on Covid vaccination at Tumnoupokpi

In view of the increasing number of COVID-19 infection in the State, Kangpokpi AC MLA, Nemcha Kipgen onFriday led an advocacy on COVID-19 vaccination at Tumnoupokpi village in Kangpokpi AC.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA highlighted the importance of vaccination and said that the vaccination is the only tool to overcome the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.
She also appealed to the people of Tumnoupokpi area not to vaccinate themselves and not to fall into misleading claims shared about Covid vaccine on various social media platforms.
"We are fortunate to have a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi who want to save his people at any cost during this health crisis by providing the costly vaccine free of cost for millions of people in the country, especially towards the northeast people", the MLA said.
"My extensive visit to the vaccination sites has nothing to do with my political career.
I strongly believe that service to mankind is service to God and my sole intention in visiting each and every vaccination site is to save my people who elected me as their representatives and I feel I must take care of their well-being and lives", she asserted.
The MLA also extended her appreciation to the village authority of Tumnoupokpi, medical team and concerned COVID Task Force for their tireless service towards the people.
The programme was also attended by Dr J Touthang, District Immunization Officer; Dr Paotinlal Haokip, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kangpokpi and Dr Pilhing, MO PHC Kalapahar.
Livingson, secretary Tumnoupokpi Village Authority expressed heartfelt gratitude to the local MLA, Nemcha Kipgen for her commitment and dedication towards her people especially during these crucial time.
Meanwhile, Nemcha Kipgen also visited a mass Covid vaccination programme at Yaikongpao village and provide protective gears to the COVID Task Force Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi.
She also interacted with the village leaders and urged them to exert more efforts so that the village could be fully vaccinated at the earliest.
