61st birth anniversary of Khelen Thokchom KTT fetes Ng Liklaileima of TSE

The Khelen Thokchom Trust (KTT) today observed the 61st birth anniversary of Khelen Thokchom at Sagolband Tera Tongbram Leikai.
Media advisor to the Chief Minister, Editors, Senior journalists, representatives of youth forum and meira paibi of Tera Tongbram Leikai, KTT members and family members of the late journalist took part in the observation.
Paying floral tributes to the memorial statue of the late journalist, presentation of certificate and a shawl to Khelen Thokchom Media Fellowship (KTMF) recipient Ng Liklaileima of The Sangai Express were the highlights of the observation.
President of Youth Forum Tera Tongbram Leikai Tongbram Pishak spoke on the occasion while Liklaileima shared her experiences and findings in compiling her comprehensive reports on the "Challenges and opportunities of urbanisation in Manipur" .

Earlier giving the keynote address, secretary of the KTT, Sobhapati Samom said that the KTMF programme was initiated to enhance the writing skills of journalists in the State in diverse fields.
So far KTMF has been awarded to four journalists belonging to different media houses.
Sports reporter Heikrujam Sadananda Singh of Poknapham and ST Lelen Vaiphei of Imphal Free Press wrote special stories on "Prospect of Cricket in Manipur" under KTMF programme in 2018-2019 .
Similarly, staff reporter Babie Shirin of Imphal Free Press was selected for the 2nd edition of KTMF programme in 2019-2020 to produce researched based stories on "Manipur's Dying Water Resources" .
In the 3rd edition, Ng Liklaileima of The Sangai Express was selected.
For the first time, the KTT will be inviting applications from the intending TV and print journalists having a minimum of three years' experience in journalism to apply for the 4th edition of KTMF programme.
On the occasion, the KTT announced the fellowships theme for the year 2021-22 as "Vanishing playfields of Manipur and its impact on health and sports".
The trust invites journalists working both in Television and print news media to apply for the 4th edition of Khelen Thokchom Media Fellowships (KTMF).
One journalist each of Television media and Print media will be selected.
The selected journalists must report 6 (six) feature stories each.
For Television media the fellowship amount will be Rs 30, 000 and for Print media it will be Rs 20, 000.The applicants should have 3 (three) years of experience in their respective medium as a reporter/correspondents/contributor of newspapers/periodicals.
An application along with Bio-data, a letter of support from the Editor that the output under the fellowship will be published (mandatory for all candidates), one samples of 'published report' on sports if any should be submitted to coordinator, KTMF c/o Pureiromba Enterprises (7005706997), Konung Mamang (Palace Gate) near Pureiromba Khongnang, Imphal East District (Daily office timing 10 am � 5 pm except Sunday) before December 17, 2021.Original publications of the reports will have to be submitted on the completion of the fellowship programme.
The selection of applicants will be done by a jury of eminent media experts.
Selection results will be announced during December end, 2021 through the personnel contacts.
The selected fellows will be guided by mentors to bring out unique research oriented reports.
