Night curfew to continue, permitted activities announced

Increasing the number of permitted activities, the District Magistrate of Bishnupur Districts has extended the night curfew imposed in the state from 6 pm to 5 am by another fifteen days till September 6 .
As per an office memorandum issued by Krishna Kumar, IAS, District Magistrate, Bishnupur District, social gathering and feast are not permitted.
It stated that the number of Covid-19 positive cases detected per day is declining albeit slowly while the hardships of the people due to continuous closure of many establishments have increased.
Strict monitoring of micro-containment zones, saturating covid vaccination, testing and immediate isolation of positive cases are necessary to tackle and contain the spread of COVID-19 in the District.
Adoption of immediate preventive and precautionary measures to strictly enforce the provisions of "the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of CovID-19 Guidelines) Regulation, 2020" is required in the whole revenue jurisdiction of Bishnupur district.
'List of permitted activities'
Government Offices, PSUs and other public utilities located in Bishnupur District to start functioning with e-office and physical attendance of Group A Officers and 50% of the remaining staff by taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
It allowed all employees and personal staff working in DIPR, Power, Fire Service, PHED, CAF & PD, Health, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Treasuries, Police Department,Water Resources, Agriculture and Horticulture and District Administration to function normally.
It also permitted all Health and welfare services, agricultural, horticultural, animal husbandry, fishery activities, Petrol Pumps, LPG outlets while opening of shops and establishments were subjected to taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
Construction activities were subject to onsite stay arrangement of workers as per the new order.
Unavoidable customary and religious rituals were allowed to be performed in open sheds by restricting the number of invitees to 20 only.
The order also stated that micro containment zones shall be strictly monitored by dedicated Police teams and Health Department teams.
Fresh cases of Covid-19 infections shall be isolated as soon as possible and brought to CHTC and Covid Care Centres as the case may be.
Meanwhile, Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS, District Magistrate, Thoubal District, in an office memorandum also prohibited the movement of persons outside their respective residences for 15 days wef August 23 to September 6 from 6 pm to 5 am.
The DM Thoubal also announced similar partial relaxations as mentioned above.
Besides, the DMs of Bishnupur and Thoubal District further informed that any persons/Organisation/institution found violating the "NIGHT CURFEW" imposed shall be deemed to have Committed an offence punishable under Section 188 and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
