Imphal, December 01 2013 :
An all political party delegation with the exception of MPP and BJP today left Imphal for New Delhi to talk about the Indo-Myanmar border fencing row with the Prime Minister and other Central leaders.
The all party delegation led by Chief Minister O Ibobi will put up at New Delhi till December 4 .
During this period they will call on and urge the Prime Minister and other relevant Ministers to suspend the border fencing work, stated Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also a member of the delegation.
Speaking to media persons before leaving Imphal this afternoon, Gaikhangam who is also MPCC president exuded confidence that the Central leaders would agree to the public demand to stop the border fencing work.
Representatives of different political parties as well as social organisations have already inspected the controversial border fencing work.
On being asked about BJP and MPP staying away from the political party team, Gaikhangam declined to comment on the matter.
The BJP had earlier accused the State Government of selling out the interest of Manipur adding that the State Government knew about the demarcation of the border fencing and announced its decision not to be a part of the all political party team.
