Fervently appealing not to give mental harassment to nurses in the State, members of the Trained Nurses' Association of India, RIMS Unit staged a silent rally in the city this morning.
The protest rally participated by around 300 nurses began from the office of the Trained Nurses Association, Manipur Branch at Uripok Khumanthem Leikai at around 11.30 am.
The rally after passing through Kangchup Road, Nagamapal, RIMS Road, RIMS campus and morgue road converged at it original place where a sit in protest was held till 3 pm.
Banners written with the words "held nurses to help patients", "give mental peace in the hospital area" and "let the nurses serve in peace" were displayed by the rallyists.
The nurses said that the dharna will be held today only.
The nurses posted at the RIMS casualty are still continuing duty and a few nurses are kept at each wards for the sake of the patients more so as the JN Hospital nurses are on strike.
The nurses said that they resorted to the rally so that no section of people gives mental harassment to the nurses who are working without rest in the hospitals.
