Amid the boycott call given by the hard-liners of the Apunba Lup, the State authorities have made all necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth proceedings of the three day public hearing to be conducted by the five member review team at the premises of Manipur Human Rights Commission from tomorrow.
Besides calling a dawn to dusk general strike to coincide with the arrival of the review team today, the Apunba Lup has also imposed a public curfew during the period of hearings at the office premises of the MHRC.
The Lup has also appealed to the public not to extend cooperation to the review committee.
To pre-empt any untoward incident at the premises of MHRC in view of the threat posed by the Apunba Lup, State security personnel have also been deployed there from today.
Two mobile security unit from reserve, one unit of Imphal West commando unit and another from Lamphel police have been pressed into service in and around the Commission's office, a police officer who is in charge of the forces told The Sangai Express.
The strength may be increased according to the situation and the same would be retained at the area till the hearings are over on December 30, he added.

One Left party and four individuals have so far applied for joining the public hearing, said a source in the commission adding that the date of their submission would be fixed by the review team after discussion.
Many individuals have also expressed their desire to join the hearing over the phone, the source added.
