Employees and pensioners of the state, under the aegis of Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of AMTUC and AMGEO, have announced to hold mass silent rally on February 4 to register dissent over the indifferent attitude of the government in fulfilling the demands of the employees and pensioners.
A statement issued by the publicity and information secretary of the JAC, L Priyobratta informed that the rally will begin from DC Complex, Lamphel from 10am.It will merge at THAU ground, Thangmeiband.
It informed all employees of the state including teachers, who have been exempted from the ongoing indefinite cease-work strike, to participate in the rally.
The statement also urged all technical staffs of the essential services, and doctors, nurses and other staff of the medical department who are off on the day to partake in the rally.
The JAC will monitor a record on the attendance of staff in respective departments for the day and will initiate fitting action against any unpunctual staff, it further informed.
The JAC statement also asserted that the indefinite cease-work strike launched by the JAC has paralysed many government offices and departments.
Meanwhile, a separate statement issued by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, Chandel Branch has pledged to join any course of agitation launched by the JAC in future, a release of the JAC Chandel branch informed.
At the same time, an emergency general body meeting of the Manipur PWD Employees and Workers' Association held on January 23 has decided to extend full support to the ongoing cease work strike launched by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, according to a statement issued by the president of the association.
