GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen NK Singh, AVSM, VSM arrived at Mantripukhri here today on a two-day visit to review the prevailing situation in Manipur.
On arrival at Leimakhong, he was received by GOC, 57 Mountain Division, Maj Gen Shakti Gurung and briefed on the prevailing situation in the State, said a statement issued by PIB (DW).
The 3 Corp GOC also visted all the formation of the Division in the State and inspected the Rest and Recoup Centre for soldiers and Disha school for Children at Leimakhong.
At Mantripukhri, he was received by IGAR (S) Maj Gen AK Choudhary, AVSM, SM, VSM and later briefed on the security situation in Manipur.
According to a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles, the GOC 3 Corps appreciated the efforts of IGAR (S) in fighting militancy in a very professional manner and keeping the security situation under effective control.

He also complemented the soldiers of Assam Rifles for their involvement in providing all possible assistance to the populace of Manipur in the true tradition of Assam Rifles.
During the course of his two-day visit, the GOC 3 Corps will also visit the Assam Rifles sectors at Keithelmanbi, Somsai and Pallel to review the security situation and is likely to interact with various community leaders, the PRO Assam Rifles added.
