Tightening its control on the public distribution system in the state, the new administration under the Governor Ved Prakash Marwah today reviewed the present stock position and the distribution system of essential commodities, especially in the interior areas of the state.
A Raj Bhavan communiqu� said today that a meeting chaired by the Governor discussed the present stock position and the distribution system.
The meeting among others was attended by advisor (R), chief secretary, commissioner (FCS) and director (FCS).
The Governor stressed the need for immediate despatching of sufficient quantities of essential commodities to the interior areas, the communiqu� said.
The Governor was briefed by the officials regarding the present rice and petroleum stock in all' the districts of the state.
He was informed 'that the present stock position both of rice and petroleum products was sufficient and the bottlenecks in sending sufficient supplies to the deficient districts are being sorted out.
The Governor also asked the concerned officers to immediately sort out the problem of credit facilities to the districts.
fie directed that sufficient quantities of food grains lying in the FCS godown in Imphal should be shifted to the godowns in the deficient districts immediately.
The Governor has also directed the police to crack down on petrol outlets selling adulterated petroleum products.
Ved Marwah has also directed the police and civil supplies authorities to conduct surprise raids to check the adulteration of petroleum products.
