Works Minister, Thongam Biswajit appealed all not to believe in hearsay and myths associated with Covid vaccine which may lead to hesitancy in taking the jab.
The above appeal was made by the Minister while inspecting a mass Covid vaccine drive held at Pheijaleitong Community hall in Thongju AC today.
He also urged the locals to take the Covid vaccine to make Thongju AC a Covid free constituency.
The Minister also earnestly appealed to all to strictly follow the Covid appropriate behaviours and guidelines to stay safe from COVID-19 and stressed on the need for timely Covid testing if there are any symptoms.
He also lauded the contributions of health workers and organisers in today's drive.
A total of 405 persons were given the jab of Covid vaccine in the mass Covid vaccination drive which was jointly organised by District Administration Imphal East, Thongju Kendra Voluntary Worker COVID-19 Relief Committee and Student's Welfare Committee (SWFC) of Thongju Pheijaleitong.
283 persons were administered the first dose of Covid vaccine and 122 persons of the second dose.
Later the Minister also handed mike sets to two local clubs of Thongju namely SWFC at Pheijaleitong and THLDS at Thongju Maibi Lampak to help in spreading awareness to the locals on COVID-19 and to inform them of any new updates.
