Kangpokpi, July 22 2021:
The district administration of Kangpokpi in the presence of Kangpokpi AC MLA held a joint meeting with representatives of all stakeholders in connection with the Asian Highway expansion issue of NH-2 on Thursday at the DC office conference hall.
The joint meeting was attended by representatives of Asian Highway Land Affected Villages Chairmen/Chiefs' Association, Kangpokpi District Joint Chief Coordinating Committee on Land Matters, TSA Sadar Hills, and All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union.
According to a source from AHLAVCCA, during the meeting, DC (Kangpokpi) Somorjit Salam urged the representatives of AHLAVCCA and other CSOs to allow a survey of standing properties by the PWD.
However, the AHLAVCCA representatives and others strongly objected to the deputy commissioner's appeal and made their stand clear that unless the land matters are resolved no work related to the Asian Highway expansion will be allowed to carry out and no more talks and meetings will be entertained unless it is declared un-surveyed land.
