Imphal, June 21 2021:
Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation Manipur (RNSOM) has voiced appreciation of the state government's efforts in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, while calling for setting up of "necessary lifesaving health facilities" at all strategic locations, especially in Nungba.
In a press release, RNSOM stated that it "is pleased to see the unceasing monitoring of the Covid-19 pandemic directly by the chief minister and his council of ministers, incredible service rendered by frontline workers, CSOs...The joint efforts have made the containment of the pandemic even more effective to this present status" .
The Rongmei body also heaped praises on the vaccination drive of the state government, saying that it is highly commendable, adding that "The present all round preparation and readiness to confront and beat any further possible threat of the pandemic in near future by the state government is incredible and will definitely leave the state health sector at more advanced stage post pandemic" .
RNSOM while appreciating the progress of the construction of Barak and Makru bridges, drew the attention of the government to setting up of "all necessary life-saving health facilities and infrastructures" at all strategic locations along the NH-37, especially at Nungba which is located in the middle of Imphal and Jiribam.
Meanwhile, the organisation expressed resentment over some seasoned politicians making untimely criticisms against the untiring and diligent work (on Covid-19 pandemic) of the chief minister saying such remarks are illogical, inappropriate and unfounded.
It then appealed to all politicians and public leaders to responsibly contribute their moral and physical support to the government in fighting the pandemic, rather than saving their own party's interest.
While expressing its concern over the recent confirmed cases of Covid-19 Delta variant in the state, RNSOM said that it will continue to extend all possible help to the government in the fight against the pandemic.
